What to do in Windsor

Our privileged location in Royal Windsor is a perfect base from which to explore our historic town and the surrounding Thames Valley. The town’s unmistakable centrepiece is Windsor Castle itself, one of the Queen’s official residences and a pleasantly imposing English landmark.

You can stroll through the charming and historic Old Town or walk along the Thames Path to Alexander Gardens, where you’ll find the Royal Windsor Wheel in summer months. This is a unique way to take in the impressive expanse of the Thames Valley and see Windsor Castle from a great vantage point.

If you’re here in the summer, you could take in a game of polo at Smith’s Lawns in Windsor Great Park, or enjoy a day out at Windsor or Ascot racecourses, where evening race meetings are a highlight of the sporting calendar.

Eton College is also just across the Thames, where you can take a guided tour of the world-famous school that’s seen no less than 17 British prime ministers pass through over the years.

And if you’re here with young children, Legoland Windsor has over 50 rides, shows and attractions in 150 acres of beautiful parkland.

This 1960s Dutch motor cruiser is an elegant classic, and can carry 12 people. For larger groups, we can hire extra boats for exclusive floating convoys on the River Thames – ideal for all private events, including conferences and meetings.
